OPENWOOD is a woodworking education and spatial services company headquartered in Osaka, Japan, with physical woodworking studios and operational teams in both China and Japan. From a dual Eastern and Western perspective, we deliver a complete woodworking education system and spatial solutions to clients around the world.
Founded in 2025 by Mr. Liang Kai, OPENWOOD is led by the fourth-generation inheritor of the “Liang's Mortise-and-Tenon Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop” and a pioneering figure in woodworking education in China. In 2010, he established the TIME BOX Woodworking Studio in China. After more than a decade of dedicated development, it has grown into a full-industry-chain woodworking education brand serving over 400 schools and more than 200 educational institutions, with a total global social media following of 1.5 million. OPENWOOD represents the international extension of this journey—carrying forward the craftsmanship spirit of both China and Japan, and bringing it to the world through Japan.
